The PMD Max is one of my creations as well. However... it takes its inspiration from Cade Moore of Fly Fish Food--his pattern called the Baetis Max (which is why I included the "max" in its name). His pattern is considered a killer baetis pattern for tailwaters. But--I feel the Jack Daniels pretty much fits that mode for me. And--I was really looking for a lighter pattern for summer when the PMDs and Sulphurs were on the move. So--after quite a bit of tinkering with multiple materials... the PMD Max was finally born (especially after having killer performances on my first two outings with it... Caney and a Spring Creek up north). The Silver bead adds some attractiveness during bright sunny days as well... which is certainly when it performs at its best. I have now added the Copper bead as an option for this fly too... after I experimented with a few during recent early morning trips with overcast skies very successfully. This is a must have pattern for summer!
